A Bird in a Chain linked Fence

This morning while walking with my husband and my dog Hunter, I noticed 2 birds perched in the diamond shaped space in a chain linked fence.

I was drawn towards these birds and needed to take pictures of them since this is not something I see everyday, I took a couple and went close to take some more. Then I got closer and took more, and then got closer...

I was expecting these birds to fly away by now but they didn't. They stayed right where they were and watched me.

I got so close that I was even able to pet one.

I later googled why these birds would just sit in the chain linked fence and not move. They were not stuck at all or anything. They chose to sit there.

I came across a blog by someone named JHMOORE and he made it into a metaphor about life. He said:

"That little guy could not spread his wings while perched in that fence. There wasn't any room. He had to jump into the open air and trust that his wings and the air currents would lift him up and out of danger. There was a split second where he was neither safely perched nor safely airborne.

One of the most important lessons I have learned is that I can always make another choice if the one I made doesn't work out well. Nothing is set in stone. However, if I stay perched in that fence I can be sure that not much will change. True, there is going to be that moment of discomfort when I leave the fence, but allow myself to feel it and move thought it, off into the wild blue yonder I will go."

This is a representation of where I was at. I felt stuck and I needed to make a change. Sure it was going to be uncomfortable because I am unsure about the endgame but it is something I needed to do. I need to fly. Even if it terrifies me.
